Chevy Walker- Camp Director – Seattle
My name is Chevy Walker. I am a former collegiate football athlete from Portland State University and the director of PICO’s Team WA branch. I am excited to embark on the collaboration between CESP Athletics and PICO.
Our mission is, “To teach and develop football skills and fundamentals to our student-athletes while fostering and nurturing them through education and cultural awareness to become men and women of substance!”
By providing a camp as such, we aim to establish success amongst the youth through the game of football. It’s vital that young student-athletes can express themselves through the activities they enjoy most. For some, that may be education, music, mixed martial arts, sports, and so on. We are providing a platform for your child to showcase not only their skill but also to have fun amongst family and friends and to connect with former players who have dedicated their time to mentoring our campers!
“What has football done for me!?”
Football has created a sense of belonging and creativity. I didn’t come from a family of wealth and riches, so I knew football was my only option for a proper education post-high school. I grew up as a three-sport athlete (Basketball / Track & Field being the other two sports), but I always knew my love for football would carry me further throughout my athletic career. This game has provided abundant opportunities, allowed me to travel around the country, and aided in establishing connections/friendships from which I have benefited. Being from Bellevue, Washington, playing in the metro league amongst friends, and now giving back to the community I was raised in is a serial moment for me.
I was once a young man who was looking for leadership to create my own identity and follow a growth pattern for success, and here I am today, still following that plan by providing help for the next young individual who wants more out of this beautiful sport!
